I paint in oils, nearly always on canvas. Most of my paintings are based on my own photos, which are composed, as far as possible, with painting in mind; I print the photo and hack it about, select parts of the image etc. until I have a good idea what I will include in the final painting.

I paint a lot of landscapes, based on local scene around Baddesley Ensor in North Warwickshire where I live, or on holiday destinations (mainly France, Wales, Scotland). I also enjoy painting seascapes.
