From an original ink painting 34¼ inches tall x 17¼ inches wide. The full size print (image) 31 ¾ x 16 inches (approx) and the half size print (image) 16 x 8 inches (approx).

Painted on a calm evening in early Summer 2014, this was amongst the first of my new “big inks”, which I started painting in this year. I stood beside the beach path, as you walk down to Porthmellon from Porthloo, looking west to Samson with the late afternoon light which was spectacular. I had to use a pen and brush for the boats at the end, but the rest was painted freehand using glass droppers.
