Taken from an original ink painting 34¼ inches tall x 17¼ inches wide. The full size print (image) is 31 ¾ x 16 inches (approx) and the half size print (image) 16 x 8 inches (approx).
This was painted in June 2014, freehand, using only ink droppers and a water spray. I’ve painted quite a few watercolours from this spot on Porthcressa, just past the new library, before the path to Penninis. I was looking south towards Gugh and St Agnes. The bank in front of the grass is planted with plenty of colourful local plants like gazanias, osteospermums and agapanthus, but June’s a bit too early for those. I think this is generally a better time to see the flowers. Later on when the agapanthus are out, they are spectacular, but there’s not a lot else in flower.
