The original of this seascape painting was created in watercolour with some pastel and was the same size as the large print we offer (about twenty seven and a half inches wide by nine and three quarter inches tall). This was painted in spring 2008. I do not normally take commissions but I was asked to paint somewhere around this view as a surprise Wedding Anniversary present for a good customer of mine. I settled on this view of Tresco Channel with the flowering yellow gorse in the foreground. There is a saying "gorse is in flower when love is in season" i.e. all year round! It was a comparatively busy spot with the helicopter tractor bus convoy passing me frequently, but quite often the best views are in the most awkward place.
