The original of this seascape painting was created in watercolour with some pastel and was the same size as the large print we offer (about twenty seven and a half inches tall by nine and three quarter inches wide). This seascape was painted in the spring of 2013, just before Easter. I was taking some of my paintings over to Gallery Tresco for their Spring Exhibition and took the opportunity to paint this view near Cromwell's Castle, looking over to Bryher. The distinctive 'coconut' perfume of the gorse flowers filled the air and covered the hills in bright yellow.
