The original of this seascape painting was created in pure watercolour and was the same size as the large print we offer (about twenty seven and three quarter inches tall by nine and three quarter inches wide). This seascape was painted in early summer 2003 and took quite a long time because there is a lot of detail here! I find that, if I am painting a very detailed picture, I have to compensate with something looser and I remember, at the time, doing one or two seascapes on the other side of the Garrison. This plant and flower filled garden is on the right side of the little road leading down towards Newman Pottery. It is looked after very able by Trish and Roger who live opposite. You can see Tresco and the Abbey in the distance. In the far distance (if you look closely) you can just see the top of Round Island Lighthouse. This has been one of my most popular giclee prints.
