This landscape was painted in watercolour with some pastel and the original painting was 27 ¼ inches tall x 9 ¾ inches wide.
This was painted in Carreg Dhu gardens in late September 2006 during some rather blustery sunny Autumnal days. The abundance of pink belladonnas is characteristic of Scilly at this time. During the course of painting, the wind caught the paper and easel and, in an effort to catch both, I fell backwards landing on the muddy grass with everything on top of me! Fortunately I managed to save the painting and the only casualty was my stainless steel flask - squashed flat.
