This landscape was painted in June 2010 in the garden of friends, Trish and Roger, who are professional horticulturalists and gardeners. They live on the Garrison near Newman Battery. Needless to say they have a wonderful garden set in several terraces on a steep hillside which has been reclaimed from an area previously covered in bracken and bramble. Their garden is now home to a colourful variety of plants, both native and exotic where southern hemisphere Bottle Brushes stand beside native European foxgloves. Looking north west, you can see the channel between Tresco and St Martins in the far distance.
