This was painted on bright clear afternoons in the late spring of 2011 and is on the footpath past Juliet's Garden restaurant below the Golf Club. I was looking south to the Bishop Rock Lighthouse and the Haycocks rocks. It is a great location to capture the silver sea and the last daffodils were still in flower. But what really caught my attention was the texture of the moss on the wall. I tried different methods to capture this mossy texture with paint alone, finally achieving it by combining hard pastel with the paint.
