This was painted in late July 2008, a time of year when many stone walls are smothered in flamboyant mesembryanthemums. From its high position, this house, 'Moyana', looks out south west over St Marys Harbour towards the Garrison and beyond to Bishop Rock Lighthouse. The walls flanking its entrance gate cascade with bright pink mesembryanthemums. South African in origin, they don't like frosts but do well in the mild climate of Scilly.
