I painted this on Peninnis Head on afternoons during a windy spell in March 2008. I was attracted by the sinuous thick ivy roots growing on the grey granite stone wall. Fortunately, the wall sheltered me from the worst of the northerly gales and squalls! The skies looking over St Agnes and the Western Isles out towards the Bishop Rock Lighthouse were spectacular.
