I froze to the bone doing this painting in January 2008. But the light and the sky were fantastic. Pendrathen Bay is one of my favourite places on the islands. There is always plenty of bird life such as the Turnstones and Oystercatchers that feature in this painting. On the horizon, against the threatening dark sky of an approaching squall, is the island of St Martins, with its distinctive red-and-white Daymark.
