From an original ink painting 34¼ inches wide x 17¼ inches tall. The full size print (image) is 31 ¾ wide by 16 inches tall (approx) and the half size print (image) 16 wide by 8 inches tall (approx).
This was painted in August 2014, using just droppers and a water spray. and was one of my first large paintings, done in this way. The whole painting was quite challenging, but the buildings even more so, because I decided not to use the brushes or draw beforehand. I wanted to keep the painting as loose and impressionistic as possible with the vibrant blue agapanthus and orange monbretia in the foreground. One of my abiding memories of this painting was when a young lad nearly crashed into me on his bike, coming off in the process. Fortunately he was unhurt. Unfortunately he knocked my inks over and I lost a lot. Very messy!
