The original of this seascape painting was created in watercolour with some pastel and was the same size as the large print we offer (about twenty seven and three quarter inches wide by nine and three quarter inches tall). This seascape was painted in autumn 2007 near Harold Wilson's seat by the base of the old windmill on Peninnis Head. I was interested in the textures of the rocks, leaves and blackberries on the wall. Peninnis Lighthouse in the distance made a good backdrop. I intended this painting to be part of my "Scilly Seasons" solo Exhibition at Birmingham Botanical Gardens in 2009. However, I was approached by the League of Friends at St Marys Hospital who were looking for a painting to commemorate a bequest. The ladies who made the donation wanted a painting of mine showing Peninnis Head, so "Bramble Hedge" now hangs in the hospital on St Marys.
