This seascape was painted in watercolour with a little pastel. The original painting was 27 ½ inches tall x 9 ¾ inches wide and went to Italy.
I painted this on Porthloo beach on late afternoons and evenings in May 2008. You have to look hard to see the oyster catchers which are just at the water's edge where they like to feed. However, it was the light on the pebbles and the sea that attracted me Since I was on the beach, I incorporated some sand and shells which are worked into the foreground of the painting.
