Scilly Seasons - Summer
"Red Sail and Agapanthus" Porthmellon, St Marys, Isles of Scilly
Late August 2007 enjoyed much better weather than the early summer. Porthmellon, a favourite beach for families, was quite busy (for Scilly, anyway!) and the agapanthus did particularly well. These ubiquitous stately blue flowers are an abiding memory for anyone coming to the islands in late summer. This is a typical scene on Porthmellon, looking towards the lifeboat slipway with Star Castle in the distance.
