Taken from an original ink painting 34¼ inches wide x 17¼ inches tall. The full size print (image) is 31 ¾ wide by 16 inches tall (approx) and the half size print (image) 16 wide by 8 inches tall (approx).
This was painted in October 2014, using just droppers and a water spray. I wanted to convey the height of the pines, so I’ve kept the horizon level as low as possible. This is such a beautiful and quiet part of St Marys, I hardly see anyone when walking the path from Trenoweth to the burial chambers at Innisidgen. There are great views to the north towards St Martins, (in the distance in this painting). Quite often first time visitors staying in Hugh Town take boat trips on the good days, not seeing the rest of St Marys unless the weather is poor, so it is such a shame visitors miss this part of the island in all its peaceful beauty.
