The original of this seascape painting was created in watercolour with some pastel and was the same size as the large print we offer (about twenty seven inches tall by nine and three quarter inches wide). This was painted in May 2006, just above Porthmellon beach at the side of the main road. Geranium maderense (from Madeira in the Canary Islands) self-seeds everywhere, even amongst rocks. When they flower in May for a few weeks, they are very spectacular. The purple and pink, heavily-veined flowers form a dome about two to three feet in diameter. The bees love them!
