I painted this landscape in watercolour with some pastel and the original was 27 inches tall x 9 3/4 inches wide.
This vibrant and colourful garden view was painted in June 2009 which was the summer after my first solo exhibition in Edgbaston, Birmingham. A local had asked for the first painting I did of this garden which was entitled “Wall at Nowhere”. However that was destined for the exhibition where it was sold. So I came back and painted the garden again from the opposite end of the wall, taking in the beautiful old white-flowered rose “Rambling Rector” growing over the blue arbour.
