I do not have to go far to paint my pictures. This was only just down on the beach in front of Glandore and was painted in the spring of 2007. It was one of three I painted here during that time. The others were at low tide at the water's edge then I moved onto Newfort Island for the mid-tide and finally back up onto the bank to paint this at high tide. There is a wide selection of plant life and colour on the bank. I really liked the Tamarisk grown as a windbreak. In the distance you can see the lifeboat slip and Hugh Town.
