Passing Boats, Droppy Nose Point, Bryher
Passing Boats, Droppy Nose Point, Bryher

Painted over a weekend break on Bryher in October 2008, this is not far from the Hell Bay Hotel (which is not actually on Hell Bay). Droppy Nose is named after the odd shaped rock on the headland. I am looking west towards the Norrard Rocks and the afternoon light. These rocky islands have a threatening fascinating beauty. Further north is Scilly Rock and the infamous Hell Bay itself where huge Atlantic rollers crash ashore. Not surprisingly, it was noted for wrecks.
